A young and enchanting variety from breeder Sofia Saakova, The Riddle of the Strawberry Waterfall is every bit as memorable as its name. This indeterminate, mid-early variety produces long clusters of beautiful elongated plum-heart fruits, often with pointed tips and dramatic anthocyanin coloring on the shoulders.

Fruits typically range from 2–5 oz (50–150 g) and ripen to rich raspberry-burgundy tones with dark highlights that deepen in strong sunlight. Inside, the flesh is juicy, raspberry-colored, and wonderfully sweet, with fruity notes and very little acidity. Some growers describe the flavor as candy-like, making it an excellent choice for fresh eating, salads, and whole-fruit preserving.

The plants have a slender, lightly foliaged structure and can be grown with close spacing when properly trained. For best results, stake well and grow in 2–4 stems, as the thin vines carry heavy clusters of fruit. As a newer Saakova variety, some natural variation may appear from plant to plant, adding a little mystery to the harvest and making each growout part of the adventure.
