Carl's Emslandtraube- 12+ Seeds It was a real pleasure to recieve these seeds from Tim Schniedergers with a request to carry on the legacy of his Grandfather, Carl Schniedergers. This tomato was bred by his 103 year old grandfather Carl. He spent 70+ years working on it. He bred it and spent all those years selecting the best of them. He lived in Emsland, Germany.
Carl was worried that his life's work and his tomato would be lost to time after his death. His grandson Tim made it his mission to send seeds to vendors to grow and continue his grandfather's legacy.
I consider this a collector's tomato along with a regular eating tomato. The fruits weigh around 10-20 gr. Thin skinned and very sweet. they grow in long, hanging trusses. Amazing to think that this tomato was one man's life work. He has sadly passed away. Best eaten dead ripe. Our second variety to ripen Thank you to Tim for continuing his grandfather's work and making it possible to be spread to gardener's all over the world.
