10+ Organically Grown Seeds — Mordovian Malachite
A spectacular modern Russian variety from breeder N.V. Zhegalin, Mordovian Malachite is a tomato that combines breathtaking tricolor beauty with exceptional vigor and productivity. Part of Zhegalin’s renowned Mordovian collection, this variety has quickly gained attention among collectors for its striking appearance and dependable garden performance.
While its name may suggest a connection to the beloved Malachite Box, Mordovian Malachite takes the green-when-ripe concept in an entirely different direction. The fruits are a dazzling blend of green, yellow, and hot pink, with vibrant coloration both inside and out. Olive-green shoulders remain at maturity while the rest of the fruit develops into a kaleidoscope of colors that makes every harvest feel special.
The indeterminate, potato-leaf plants are exceptionally vigorous and productive, often reaching 7 feet (2.1 m) or more in height. Growers consistently praise the plants for their sturdy growth, disease tolerance, and remarkable ability to continue producing from early in the season right through the final harvests of autumn.
The fruits average 7–9 oz (198–255 g) and offer a refreshing flavor profile that perfectly complements their colorful appearance. Expect a bright, fruity taste with notes of citrus, natural sweetness, and a clean, refreshing finish. The juicy flesh and beautiful interior coloration make this an outstanding slicing tomato for fresh eating, salads, and colorful summer platters.
If you’re searching for a tomato that combines beauty, reliability, and impressive production, Mordovian Malachite is an excellent choice. Its vibrant tricolor fruits and vigorous growth habit ensure it stands out in any garden.
